McDade ISD Schoolboard Meeting
May 19, 2022

Meeting called to order at 6:15 pm with all Board members present
Pledge to American and Texas flags
*Super Stidham announced that campus/District Improvement Plans have not changed. Announced that there will be a “Team of 8” meeting in June, and it was discussed to have meeting open up for community.
6*Consideration and Action Items:
a. Discuss and Consider SHAC and Title 1 – Title passed 7-0
b. Discuss and Consider 4 day school/work week- President Dube discussed community input. This was not something the community wants. Super Stidham would still like to investigate and review moving to a 4 day school week in the future. Miller moved that the Super is able to do this. Motion seconded by Rother. Passed 7-0
c. Long Range Plans for Architecture- Antonio Naylor
Discussed- Adding Bus Lane, Parking Lot, Adding Portables, Field House at Gym, Upgrade Electrical in Elm, Student and Staff Restroom. Noted that the Capacity with improvements would accommodate 374 Students in High School and 452 in Elementary
With Growth Considered Land will need to be purchased to build new High School in 10-15 years. Architect Estimate of improvements- $13.7 mil HS/JR High and $7.7 mil Elementary.
$3.6 for new Stadium. $2.7 mil for Bus Barn with Bays
It was mentioned that a practice/walking track would be a good thing for the school.
Total Estimate high end- $42 Million
d. Portables- Super has bids in on several
SUV/PU- Board discussed getting 2 SUV’s Super is investigating
McDade ISD will be hiring students this summer to help with custodial duties. Posted and Applications provided.
Super discussed doing a work/study program in the future with early release for students with jobs.
e. Updates to Local Policies for FDA- Stidham. FDA requires that transfers are kept until end of year. Motion made to amend FDA Local as permitted. voted 7-0
f. Voted 7-0 to join Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts Texas Smart Buy Program- Presented by Stidham.
g. Salary and Stipend Schedule and Benefits- Moved to June Meeting
h. Update on BACA Award Plaques and Scholarship Presentation- Super Discussed and proposed that any board member who wants to donate, could do so with the Super after meeting.
i. Student Clubs and Opportunities for 2022-2023- Presented by Stidham Wanting to bring Cross-Country back, Add Golf Club. Announced that “Fellowship of Christian Athletes will start doing fundraisers next year. Previous Senior Fundraisers still have funds left in account. This will be investigated for use next year.

8a. Miller moved to approve consent agenda. Passed 7-0
