Cedar Creek High School made history last week at the Sweet Adeline’s Rising Star International Quartet Competition!

Supernova Quartet made up of students Mia Benavides, Annabel Bordelon, Elizabeth Castillo, & Alyna Monreal-Cancino won the Stars to Watch Award and placed 7th in the world! Stars to Watch is awarded to the highest scoring quartet with an average age of 16 or below.

This was the first time in Sweet Adeline’s history that a teacher, our very own Madison Padgett, competed against her own students in the Rising Star (25 and under women’s barbershop quartet) competition.

Padgett’s quartet, Cosmic, took 1st place internationally. Cosmic Quartet also tied the highest score ever received (397/400) in the Rising Star Quartet Competition.
