Bastrop County Democratic Party Meeting – September 14
I’m sure you are following the impeachment trial of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. We have 30 Texas Senators sitting on the jury panel for the trial. One of them is esteemed Senator Roland Gutierrez from Texas Senate District 19. You may know Sen. Gutierrez as the representative serving the Uvalde area. He’s been a very vocal proponent for the families that were affected by the school shooting at Robb Elementary. Sen. Gutierrez has also entered the race to become the democrat-elect to run against Ted Cruz.
Sen. Gutierrez is scheduled to speak at this meeting, however, due to the increasingly late adjournment time of the trial, he may not make it. We are still holding the time for him and hope he can attend. But if the trial runs long we certainly understand and will have Sen. Gutierrez back another time.
We are working on a contingent agenda if our speaker cannot make it.
