McDade ISD School Board Meeting 2/22/22
*1. Meeting called to order at 6:05pm
*2. Quorum established- majority vote to allow 10 minutes for public comment.
*3. Vision and Mission Statement: “Dream Big”
*4. Pledges
*5. Presentation recognizing Services for Former Board Members. Two members have
resigned. Currently 5 School Board members.
*6. Public Comment- . One citizen spoke about concerns regarding teachers being told what
they are able to teach.
*7. Consideration and Action Items
A. Facility Updates- Maintenance update discussed by Mr. Johnson. The County
Commissioner came out and has said that school traffic signs will be replaced by the
county, becoming legal School signs, which can now be enforced by law enforcement.
B. Administer Campus Reviews- Superintendent said that they are actively looking for more
teachers and interviews are being conducted. Estimated that at least 10 new teachers
are needed.
C. Discuss TASB Spring and Summer Conferences- Options Discussed
D. Discuss TASB Training Courses- Proposed that training is done in June, before school
year begins.
E. Discuss Updating Superintendent Evaluation Tool- NA
F. Discuss McDade ISD Strategic Plan- Tabled until next meeting
G. Discuss response to Bastrop County Commissioner- Thank You sent to Mr Snowden
H. Discuss 2022-2023 School Calendar- School Board President noted calendar had been altered. Superintendent explained reasons for changes. Corrections needed, discussed,
and reported that these corrections will be made.
I. Discuss and Assign Local Credit Codes to Dual Credit Classes- Superintendent is
checking with TEA.
*8. Executive Closed Session begins @ 7:47pm. Regular Meeting adjourned.
