Family planning clinics in Texas funded through the federal program known as Title X, are requiring teens to obtain parental consent to get birth control, following a December court ruling. A federal judge in North Texas ruled the program violates parents’ rights and state and federal law by providing free, confidential contraception.
A new Texas Department of Agriculture report has linked climate change with food insecurity. The report identified climate change as a potential threat to the state’s food supply following a historic drought that devastated crops across the state, pushing ranchers to liquidate livestock.
